First day's ride

Today, Sunday, we did our first full day ride.

Mainly rode in the Big Bend National park and we did about 150 miles of dirt (plus 50 or so miles on asphalt).

We started with north of Terlingua and rode close to Hen Egg mountain and Acqua Fria mountain.

And we did encounter some minor issues ...

It was a good test for us to get used to the bikes on tougher terrain that the day before.

We stopped for lunch somewhere on the trail and decided to go up a small hill to watch the park and also have our packed lunch.

The bikes lined up waiting for next stage.

"And then it happened ... Craig ran out of gas and the big GSA is feeding its frie

We then did Marathon road that turns into Old Terlingua road and met some tricky sandy bits. We knew we had to get better on the sand as this was becoming our Achilles Heel. More about that tomorrow ...

We then went into asphalt, stopped at the park to put gas and made it back home.

It was an excellent first day and we are glad we started with an easier options and we took it easy on the way home.Ppp
